The Dodge Electric Concept

The North American International Auto Show became the venue for Chrysler LLC to send out and introduce to the public its newest concept vehicle. The unit comes with a Li-ion battery that is rechargeable and this power source has the capacity of 64k Wh. The name? Dodge ZEO. And it is an electric car.

The manufacturer of the electric vehicle has declared that in one charging the Dodge ZEO can run a total distance of 250 miles and that distance is not a joke.

So why ZEO, you may ask? Chrysler says that ZEO actually stands for something and it means “zero emission operations”. Indeed, the Dodge ZEO would not be spurting out any emissions for it runs entirely on electricity.

Quite a number of consumers are already on the lookout for vehicles like the Dodge ZEO and they are asking the question, “Will the Dodge ZEO electric concept unit become a mass produced vehicle?” To this question, Chrysler has got an answer: they are not yet sure if they would be making this a production vehicle. Of course, it is quite understandable if Chrysler would not be making the Dodge ZEO a production vehicle any time soon. After all, there are quite a number of things to consider and one at the top of the list would be the manufacturer of the battery.

As a concept vehicle, the Dodge ZEO comes as a rear wheel drive unit with four doors and has the capacity to take in four passengers. It has a weight of 1,202 kilograms and the company behind the vehicle claims that it can reach a speed of 60 miles per hour from zero in just 5.7 seconds. Now that is really fast. The testers of the electric concept vehicle have also clocked in the vehicle’s top speed which falls at 209 km/hr.
