Audi’s New Concept
For a while, the only Audi concept vehicle that has stuck in my head was the one used in the movie “I Robot”. It is a good thing that I have come to learn that that Audi unit was not the only and the last concept car that Audi has created. Like recently, the car maker has created another concept car and it goes by the name Audi R8 V12 TDI.
The Audi R8 V12 TDI is actually named such for it has been based on the Audi R8 production vehicle which we all are aware of. The V12 stands for the engine that has been mounted on the vehicle. The engine has got 12 cylinders and it has been designed to run using diesel as fuel. The new concept car has just been unveiled at the recent North American International Auto Show.
According to the car, their V12 engine which has been mounted on the concept unit has been tested and they have been able to clock in 500 hp as the power that the engine can make. And because of such a great amount of power, the Audi R8 V12 TDI can run to a high of 300 kilometers each hour. The vehicle also has the capacity to go from a complete zero to a high of a hundred kilometers per hour in just 4.2 seconds.
Compared to the Audi R8, the Audi R8 V12 TDI has got a silver paintjob. However, that is not the only difference between the two units. The latter comes to be manufactured wider. It also has larger wheel arches. The air apertures of the vehicle also have been designed to be grander than the production model. A glass roof has also been installed as part of the concept unit and so passengers can simply gaze up and look at the star during night driving.
