The Green Ferrari
We know that Ferrari units usually come in red paint jobs. And this new green Ferrari is not going to come green… literally. It is going to be green figuratively. And when we say green, we mean that the Ferrari vehicle is going to be friendly to the environment.
This vehicle is not a production vehicle - it is still a concept car. But it is very interesting to note that the vehicle has been given the capacity to do the miles using E85 as fuel. E85 is a type of fuel that is a mixture of 85% ethanol and the rest of it is petrol. And this fuel is what makes the Ferrari concept vehicle a green one. See, E85 reduces all carbon dioxide emissions by at least five percent. Come to think of it, in the long run, accumulate all those five percent reductions and you get a really good deal.
Named the Ferrari F430 Spider Biofuel, this concept unit has been basically based from the current F430 Spider unit. The creator of the vehicle has declared that the green Ferrari is quite a powerful one. See, they claim that with the 4.3 liter V8 engine that has been mounted, the green concept car can zoom with 7.5 kW. Would that be fast enough for you?
Ferrari also did disclose that they have created the green Ferrari as part of their move towards being able to meet the new standards on bio-fuel in Formula One. We all know, of course, that Ferrari vehicles are quite popular as race cars in the mentioned event. Ferrari also did share that the F430 Spider Biofuel unit is also part of their goal which is to create vehicles that have 40% lower emissions and 40% lower fuel consumption by the year 2012.
