Value - Priced Small Car
Small cars are buyable nowaday. They are easy to park, fun to drive, fuel economy and can be bought at low prices. One of the small cars who have these is the Chevrolet 2008 Aveo which is a Korean built imported by General Motors for US market. This car is a four door sedan that can accommodate five passengers that is available in LS and LT trims. Both trims have 103 hp 1.6-liter inline-4 engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic as an option. The engine of Aveo is said to be a weak one which doesn’t compete effectively with the other cars in terms of performance.
The cabin is not that very good, not actually uncomfortable because the seats have nice texture too making it somehow comfortable though others may find some parts of it uncomfortable. It is also quiet making this car a pleasant family sedan. The over all look of the car is actually expensive than the last year’s Aveo as 2008 Aveo is a carry over from last year.
In safety, the Aveo earned high rating for frontal crash test and passenger frontal crash test. This small car comes with a standard safety features like Dual – Stage Frontal Air Bags that protects the diver in case of impacts due to accident or crashes while the Seat – Mounted Side – Impact Air Bags protects the occupants from side – impact collision. The Passenger Sensing System is another standard safety features to all Aveo 5 which automatically switches the right – front passenger air bag on or off based on the passenger’s weight and the type of pressure on the seat. Antilock Brake System (ABS) which prevent wheel lockup during braking on slippery road; though this feature is not available to all Aveo cars but just on selected models. Despite these standard safety features and the rating Aveo got for safety crashes, the car doesn’t compete effectively with other small cars in terms of safety.
2008 Aveo is not your luxury dream car. But if you just want a car for a decent ride, a basic solid transportation this car will definitely fit you. Somehow, this car makes a decent choice because of it fun to drive due to its fast performance and sharp steering. And don’t forget that that it has an extremely low price which can start from $10,000.00.
