Lotus Sends Out New Track Car

For this year, Lotus Cars Ltd.’s motor sport branch, Lotus Sport, has come up with a new unit. This new one has been created and designed based on the 2007 Lotus Exige Cup Car unit. Named the MY2008 Lotus Sport Exige Cup 260, the new vehicle has a new engine system that is said to come with a maximum amount of power output.

How great is this vehicle’s power output? According to Lotus, they have made the new engine to be capable of spurting out 257 horsepower which is 5 horsepower more than the previous vehicle’s engine system’s capacity. Of course, the car maker has made sure that this new vehicle of theirs would be able to take on the challenges set by the European tracks.

The new MY2008 Lotus Sport Exige Cup 260 comes with an instrument pack which has been designed to sport new graphic designs. Of course, that is not all that the instrument pack has to offer. See, the vehicle’s instrument panel also has new functions which would help the driver know more of his and the vehicle’s statistics when driving through the tracks. For safety, the vehicle also has a new alarm system that also doubles as an immobilizer. You would find a function key that comes with the whole system. The variable Lotus traction control system and the variable Lotus launch control system have also been added to the list of features of the MY2008 Lotus Sport Exige Cup 260.

Weighing only 928 kilograms, the MY2008 Lotus Sport Exige Cup 260 has the capacity to go through high speeds. It comes with front brake calipers with four pistons from the AP Racing brand and it also has been equipped with the anti-roll bar. You would also be able to find in the list of features a Lotus Sport limited slip differential that is a plate type.
