New Models Pop Out Of The Buick

Buick, an automobile manufactured by General Motors (GM). In 2006, 876,000 units were reportedly sold worldwide. 33% of the total sale came from China. China is Buick’s largest market, selling more there than even the United States, Over 330,000 Buicks were sold in China, more than twice what they sold in the United States in the year 2007. They Shanghai GM recently announced the upgrade and makeover of Buick car models. They will incorporate European and American technologies and global platforms.

As part of GM’s global platform plan, Opel’s second-generation DeIta II platform will be used for the production of compact cars and the Epsilon II platform for mid-class cars. The Chevrolet Cruze and Opel Insignia will be their first new models in accordance to the platform plan implemented worldwide. Afterwards, they will be sold in world market as GM’s different sub-brands.

The Chevrolet Cruze on the Delta II platform will be introduced to develop its new-generation Buick Excelle, and introduce the Opel Insignia on the Epsilon II platform. This will serve as the new versions of the Buick Regal and LaCrosse. The Buick Regal has a 3800 Series II Supercharged V6 has 240 horsepower and 280 lb-ft torque and offers an estimated fuel economy of 18-mpg city, 28-mpg highway. LaCrosse on the other hand, is built with a front-end design with a touch of  Velite convertible concept and has a standard 3.6L V-6 with variable valve timing that delivers 240 horsepower. It features factory remote start, XM Satellite Radio, telescoping steering wheel column, redundant steering wheel controls and dual-zone climate control

Two Shanghai GM models with code-named SGM7205 and SGM7241 have been recently listed by China’s auto industry regulator. These new models are believed to be the new Regal and new LaCrosse. A large portion of China’s auto market is targeted by these two new twin models.
