The Evolution… The 2010 Civic Hatchback

The automobile manufacturers have been struggling during the submerging market. However, the feud of manufacturers to meet their target for annual sales, Dongfeng Honda is still planning to launch a new vehicle. A Hatchback of the existing Civic sedan is expected to be developed by 2010 by Dongfeng Honda.

Regardless of the market downturn, they have exceeded the target of 160,000 units out of the 150,000 target units to be sold. Moreover, they are expecting to hit 165,000 units. Perhaps, the current situation can’t turn down the increasing sales of Dongfeng Honda.

The increase of sales may be credit to the popular demand of CR-V which created an overwhelming number of sold units regardless of its high price.  The features of CR-V have met the expectation of SUV enthusiasts that is why it merits a number of units sold.

The Civic have a monthly sales of 7,000 units. Although CR-V has acquired more sales, there’s a report that there will be a production of Hatchback version of Civic in China. According to Honda officials, the plan to set up the production of Hatchback Civic has not been made. Moreover, the high cost has prevented them from the assembly of the Hatchback Civic. This conclusion has been established primarily because consumers are now practical in choosing vehicles.

Therefore, there will be two versions of Civic. However, the hatchback and sedan versions are totally different. The Hatchback will cost $3,800 higher than the cost of the sedan version. Because of the high production cost and price of the Hatchback Civic, surely the clients won’t prefer it.

Moreover, Dongfeng Honda will still pursue its plans to independently develop the Hatchback Civic. The car manufacturer will probably launch its Hatchback model by 2010 to fill in the margin of models. As for Civic fans, this is something for you to look forward to.
