Volkswagen has captured the attention of a safety organization based in Australia. A four star rating was awarded by Australasian New Car Assessment Program to the Volkswagen Caddy on October 27, 2008. Moreover, Volkswagen maintained its dedication to come up with safe commercial vehicles. The Volkswagen Caddy is equipped with a driver’s side airbag along with anti-lock brakes as their standard safety features. Also, the Caddy is fitted with a passenger airbag in front and an option to have side airbags on all models. Another optional feature for your car is the Electronic Stabilisation Programme or ESP.

Bigger load volume is provided by the Caddy Maxi. Also it offers greater payload and extended its load length capacity. You think it’s impossible to carry 800kg with 2250mm of load length? Surely, the Caddy can. The window van model of Caddy Maxi offers a seating capacity of five persons and you can load up stuffs on its spacious payload area.

The Caddy Maxi Life provides more space for up to seven people including luggage. Also featured in the Caddy Maxi Life is the comfortable and attractive interior. Moreover, safety measures have been part of the standard specification. Furthermore the Caddy Maxi Life has two sliding doors and can hold a load of up to 620mm.

With the recent award given to Volkswagen Caddy, the company will still continue to produce high quality cars equipped with safety standards.

Each year, you would find tons and tons of top 10 lists. These lists are actually very beneficial for consumers because they get to see reviews and get to see which vehicles are really good depending on what that top 10 list is all about. Also, it is a good thing to have such lists because consumers would not need go through tons and tons of vehicles. By just looking at a list, one already has a good list of vehicles to get.

For this year, the 2008 Kia Sedona has been included in a top 10 list. This one is from GAYOT.com and it is the top 10 best value vehicles. According to the site, they have been doing this list for years already and they give ratings according to various criteria which includes the features of the vehicles, the cabin, the interior, and the price. Now these are all good in the 2008 Kia Sedona that is why it has been able to make it to the list this year.

Tom Loveless is the VP of Kia Motors America’s sales and he said that the company is very proud of the 2008 Kia Sedona being included in the mentioned list. He also disclosed that being part of that list, the 2008 Kia Sedona has been able to show to the rest of the world that it is very much dedicated to giving just what the consumers need – a good vehicle that is of quality but does not have to be pricey.

What the 2008 Kia Sedona is is a good famiy vehicle. It is powerful and it also has a good amount of space. It has a V6 engine with a 3.8 liter displacement and this powerhorse could actually create 250 horsepower. The ride also has a long list of really good features.

Aside from the B-Class makeover, Mercedes-Benz has also conducted a thorough improvement of the M‑Class. This type of automobile is the pioneer SUV that with the touch of elegance in the Mercedes-Benz lineup. The new M-Class 4MATIC SUV has evolved and now gifted with additional elegance and sporty character. It has a five-seat configuration and provides a spacious room for baggage.

It’s not the usual M-Class. The new M-Class has set the new standard for future SUVs to come. It has dynamic characteristic, stylish and sporty architecture. It offers excellent driving performance both on and off-road and feel comfortable while riding on it. The interior is composed of high quality materials that are very stylish. For that sporty look, the seats have been design to serve that purpose. Its safety features are remarkable as well. It has optional features that can be added. One feature is the Parktronic(TM) that comes with a camera which may help drivers to find a parking space to fit their car in.

The 4MATIC SUV is equipped with a seven-speed automatic transmission and can manage automatic 4MATIC all-wheel drive. While other car manufacturers offer some features as optional, the new M-Class offer these features as standard. It has an airbag system in the front for the passenger and driver, and curtain bags and sidebags are provided in the rear. Moreover, there are four available models in the ML-class. The ML320 BlueTEC is capable of generating 210 horsepower and is powered by a V6 engine that runs in diesel. The ML350 has the ability to generate 268 horsepower and is powered by a V6 gasoline engine.

Fuel efficiency is observed in the M-Class. It’s engines are very powerful are very fuel-efficient. Either you are on or off-road, the performance of the M-Class is very exceptional.

BYD Auto Company, a car company in China would like to set a new trend in the car industry.  The second quarter of 2009 will mark the advent of electric cars. Officials from BYD Auto Company said during the China Hi-Tech fair that they plan to launch those vehicles probably by next year. A battery will provide power for those electric cars and may run up to 400 km when fully charged.

In support of this venture in electric cars of BYD Auto Co., Berkshire Hathaway Inc will provide $230 million to support the Chinese company’s new venture in the production of electric cars. The chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. uttered his eagerness to test and drive an electric car prior to its launch in the auto market. Wang Chuanfu of BYD Auto Company told reporters that they are going to sell the F3DM hybrid in China by the end of this year.

During last year’s Beijing auto show, BYD showed a full electric car with its specifications, the F3DM, a car based on BYD’s F3 sedans. The battery to be supplied for BYD’s electric car is made of iron. According to BYD, iron-based batteries are better than lithium batteries. BYD said that it requires only 10 minutes to come up with a 50% charged battery. With that amount of time to consume in charging a battery, BYD’s electric car will beat other manufacturers whose computed time to complete a charge lasts up to eight hours.

The Chinese government is really encouraging its car manufacturers to develop eco-friendly cars. Other leading car manufacturers are now on their planning and production stage of electric cars. However, these large commercial car manufacturers don’t have their own battery technology. Perhaps that would be the edge of BYD Auto Company against its competitors.

Volkswagen’s BlueMotion line up of cars launched the addition of the Touran and Sharan. Both vehicles have a 7-seat configuration. That’s enough to carry your family on a weekend getaway.

BlueMotion is the most efficient model in each of Volkswagen’s passenger car range. It comes with a series of minor modifications to the car’s body, drivetrain, engine and even the tires received some improvements in order to reduce strain on the engine and, in turn, reduce emissions and to economize fuel consumption.

Regarded as Volkswagen’s efficient model in carrying people, it has been modified with small changes in its engine, exterior design and drivetrain. BlueMotion’s tires have also received some makeovers to reduce damage to the engines that may result to great fuel efficiency and reduce emission of harmful fumes in the environment.

Air ducts have been redirected into another direction to allow smoother airflow in front of the vehicle. Both vehicles have been lowered in order to reduce air drag. Compound tires have been incorporated to decrease resistance in rolling.

The gearbox has been modified also. A PS engine built with a turbocharger to increase efficiency for Touran and a 2.0-litre 140 PS TDI in the Sharan. A Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and oxidation catalyst are also added to reduce nitrogen and carbon units to near zero. This will result into a fuel economy of 52.3 mpg for BlueMotion’s Touran respectively. And 47.1 mpg for BlueMotion’s Sharan. Carbon dioxide emissions to the environment are decreased to 144 g/km for Touran model and 159 g/km for Sharan model. That makes these cars eco-friendly.

Touran and Sharan are also equipped with a CD stereo for audio entertainment and air conditioning. Also, safety is guaranteed and it is accompanied in the features with six airbags inside.

A record of 84.58mpg has been achieved after a complete run of over 400 miles on a marathon held this year. This record was set by a Mazda2 diesel from Mazda Motors based in UK. The marathon wants to promote eco-driving and put into emphasis the fuel savings. Amidst the increasing price of fuel, a smart motorist must know how to save gas.

The crew members of Mazda2 1.4 5dr TS2 Diesel namely, Sue Cooke and Joanne Cooke have fully utilized the car’s light weight and smooth aerodynamics. The competitive driving lasted for two days and they got a score of 19 percent improvement on the combined cycle figure (65.7mpg) of this Mazda, while only cruising at 40mph.

Sue told that a wise approach and applying “smarter motoring” techniques may help her save fuel for her car. These methods of saving fuel include accelerating slowly, early shift-up and avoiding unnecessary braking by planning ahead of time. If these things are to be put into practice, anyone who applies these techniques may surely end up saving dollars for fuel.

The skills in proper driving can create an effect on your fuel consumption. One of the skills is to slow down. For an instance, driving at a speed of 70mph consumes 15 per cent more fuel than at 50mph. Be cautious and always be alert when driving to avoid braking and stopping which can be prevented beforehand. Engine should be shut down when not in use, it still burns fuel even if you are on a stop. Try to open down your windows when travelling; air-condtioning in your car consumes fuel also. Check tire pressures regularly, it affects greatly when you are accelerating. Remove unnecessary and excess weight away from your car; the more load you have, the more fuel you burn. Remove roof racks because it causes aerodynamic drag. And lastly, have your car be checked on a regular basis.

The new 2009 Acura RDX can stand out against other vehicles of its same class. A sport sedan disguising itself as a small SUV. It has a responsive handling in any road condition. The 2009 Acura RDX has a five-seat configuration  sports sedan. Mercedez Benz a leading manufacturer of automobiles has kept it prestige over the years. People from Mercedes Benz have been perfecting the well-crafted design and architecture of B-Class model. General Motors (GM) once again hit the auto market with its new Chevrolet Captiva, the first diesel-powered SUV. All other SUVs are powered by petrol engines that cost owners for high fuel consumption. With this new innovation from GM, Chevrolet Captiva will enable customers to save more fuel during the continuing oil price increase. It claimed as the SUV that offered great value for money.

Originally, the Captiva is based on the Saturn Vue/Opel Antara design but have lower trim levels and sold at a lower price. GM launched a new base level diesel Captiva in Europe with a 2.0L rail diesel. It is powered with 150hp diesel engine that offers fuel economy numbers on the EU test cycle. Driving the diesel Captiva in urban roads, it can manage 26.7mpg (U.S.) while highway numbers come in at 36.2mpg (U.S.).

Just recently, a new entry-level diesel Captiva model has been launched. At £18,295, the new five-seater Captiva 2.0 VCDi LS is far cheaper than other competitive cars in its class like Kia’s model Sorento, Nissan X-Trail and Hyundai Santa Fe 2.2 CRTD GSi. Despite of its low price compared to other SUVs, it still meets the expectation of SUV enthusiasts and added new features.

The new Captiva comes with smart 16-inch alloy wheels which improves the steering and the speed of the car.  The steering wheel has mounted audio controls. For that cool entertainment while on the road, the Captiva’s interior is surrounded powerful six-speaker in which you can listen to RDS radio/CD player with MP3 socket. As for the safety of the passengers and the driver, curtain, front and side airbags are provided. The 16-valve diesel unit delivers its 150 hp (110 kW) at 4,000 rpm and maximum torque of 310 Nm at 2,000 rpm. These features fitted in one SUV for a cheap price is total superb.

Mazda has revised on-the-road prices for the new improved Mazda BT-50 range along with the “customer savings”. Despite of its promo, Mazda still ensures that their models are still competitive to the market sector.
